EFGS 2026 – Geo-enabling the future

The European Forum for Geography and Statistics (EFGS) 2026 conference explores how statistical and geospatial data integration can support better understanding and decision-making in response to complex societal, environmental and economic challenges.

The motto “Geo-enabling the future” reflects the growing importance of location-based insights. Location provides critical context that transforms data into actionable knowledge, enabling more effective and targeted policies and decisions.

A key focus of the conference is how modernisation, good governance and interoperability can support the development of timely, trusted and resilient integrated data ecosystems. Beyond technical solutions, this requires strategic leadership, clear regulatory frameworks and standards, and strong organisational commitment.

The conference will take place in Brussels, from the 30th of September until the 2nd of October.
